The Solfatara, which is a part of the network, has a main outpost and two secondary outposts.  The two secondary outposts, which can be seen inside the crater near the "Bocca Grande" and on the bank to the east, are fitted with solar panels and electronic equipment for the recording of geo-chemical and seismic data.  The data is transmitted to the main outpost which transmits it to a stationary satellite using a 1.8 m. parabolic antenna.  The data is then transmitted to several research Agencies.
